GETDRESSEDFORBATTLE® Viking Chainmail and The CrusadesGETDRESSEDFORBATTLE® Viking Chainmail and The Crusades
The perfect chainmail for the Viking Period through to the Crusades and arguably beyond, this is the Chainmail for you.
From examples known, researchers say that Chainmail of these periods were predominantly constructed in a similar way, i.e. Flattened or partially flattened rings in alternating rows of riveted and solid punched rings or all riveted and closed using dome head rivets.
This subject is wide open but we feel that this Chainmail gives a reasonable representation of the Chainmail from these periods within the constraints of production techniques against cost to bring you the best and most affordable Chainmail of the day.
The construction of this style of Chainmail is in the 4 in 1 pattern and is of Mild Steel wire 1.2mm in diameter, i.e. 18 gauge and wound and flattened to produce rings that are 8mm internal diameter and riveted together using dome head rivets with alternating rows of solid punched rings or in the all riveted style.
The Chainmail is supplied burnished to give a grey finish.
GETDRESSEDFORBATTLE® Medieval and High Medieval MailleGETDRESSEDFORBATTLE® Medieval and High Medieval Maille
High quallity wedge riveted chainmail. From the Late 14th Century and arguably slightly earlier, the 'Wedge Rivet' reared it's head later in the Medieval period would have been constructed using flattened or partially flattened rings in alternating rows of riveted and solid punched rings and closed wedge rivets.
Later in the period the construction would have been all riveted rings without the solid punched rings but who is to say that that the alternating style would not still have been worn, so you will find both styles in this section.
Again this subject is wide open but we feel that this Chainmail gives a reasonable representation of the Chainmail from these periods within the constraints of production techniques against cost to bring you the best and most affordable maille of the day.
The construction of this style of Chainmail is in the 4 in 1 pattern and is of Mild Steel wire 1.2mm in diameter, i.e. 18 gauge and wound and flattened to produce rings that are 8mm internal diameter and riveted together using wedge rivets with alternating rows of solid punched rings and alternativly all rivited ring construction.
The Chainmail is supplied burnished to give a grey finish.
GETDRESSEDFORBATTLE® Posh MailleGETDRESSEDFORBATTLE® Posh Maille
Well here we go. Who ever you are, who ever you portray and which ever period you cover, be it Roman through to now I'm sure you will find good reason to argue that an example of this style of Chainmail was found, giving it provinance in your period. It is the smallest diameter chainmail made commercially today by anyone.
People drool when they see this.
Manufactured from 1.0 mm mild steel wire wound to 6 mm internal diameter and woven using the 4 in 1 pattern with alternating rows of solid punched rings that are 1.0 mm square in section and 6mm internal diameter. Due to the extremely small ring diameter, this type of ring can and could historically be manufactured in only 1 mm steel, which reduced total weight 30 - 35%.
