Please note that the measurements given in the helmet size choices are the internal circumferences. therefor when assesing the size you require you should measure whilst wearing any items you will use with the helmet e.g. an arming cap and or a maille coif. Because of the difference in the shape of the individuals skull it is suggested that a 5cm band of sheep skin can be fixed to the inside of the leather liner to give a snug fit and afford a more cusioning effect during combat. Typical is the helmet shape with forward curved tip, which is reminiscent of early, ancient forms. These helmets were usually accompanied by a coif. We therefore offer the helmet in two sizes with plenty of room for padding. The helmet is made of two halves of 2mm thick steel plate and centrally welded. The nasal is hammered from 4mm thick steel strip and is backed with leather. This very strong nasal ensures maximum robustness and thus a high level of protection during battle.
