| Viking Shoes, Turn-Sewn Ref: SH/31290102 |
|
These ankle-high shoes replicate archeological finds in Haithabu (near Schleswig). They are dated around 900 - 1150 a.d. A turnshoe was a type of footwear made of leather that was used during the dark and middle ages. It was so named because it was sewn together inside-out, and then was turned right side out once finished. This turnshoe has a triangular heel piece and is laced around the leather, which makes it specifically viking. Details: - the upper leather is 2 mm thick, made with non-chemical-based tanning methods - 4mm thick leather sole, also with vegetable tanning - hand-made in the authentic turn-sewn method - thickness of sole: approx. 5 mm - colour: light brown Attention! These shoes' durability is not comparable to modern footwear. They are sensitive to asphalt and gravel. We recommend shoe inserts, padding or wearing pattens. |
