Anglo-Saxon - Sutton Hoo Buckle,Cast Brass
Sutton Hoo Buckle
A large heavy belt buckle made of brass, a replica of the belt buckle found in the ship burial of Sutton Hoo. The rich embellishments represent a total of thirteen creatures, from winding snakes over intertwined, four-legged beasts to stylised bird heads. In addition to the Helmet of Sutton Hoo this buckle is another important testimony to anglo-saxon craftsmanship.
