Our Chainmail Coif with Triangular Mouth Guard Blackened Finish is constructed using butted rings, the blackened surface of the rings of the coif provides protection from corrosion.
The chainmail coif is woven 4 in 1 and covers the shoulder completely and has an authentic square facial opening which can be partialy covered using the triangular mouth guard using the leather straps sewn on the sides. The mouth guard has been padded inside and fitted with leather for comfort. This kind of chain mail coif was very popular in High Middle Ages with the Normans or Crusaders.
