Cow-Mouth Boots
Cow-mouth boots came about in the early 16th century and were worn by both men and women. They ended up as a  typical part of clothing of the Landsknecht's.The boots shape is characterised by a flat body, a wide tip and a high shaft, and is decorated with elliptical recesses similar to the slotted clothing the Landsknecht's are known for.A strap with a buckle around the ankle fastens the boot. The sole is fitted by stable nails.

Please Note:
The strength of the shoes according to historical patterns may not meet the modern requirements!
They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete stones and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages!
We recommend wearing pattens (medieval wooden overshoes), insoles or to refit them with rubber soles at a cobblers.
