Early Medieval Canteen made from White Clay, Height 23.5cm, Weight 1.20kg
Canteen - White Clay
An authentic reproduction of an Early Medieval canteen made from white clay
For hygienic reasons it has been glazed on the inside and the top is sealed with a cork. The bottle is plain and has a collar and attached base
From the ancient times people started to use canteens. Pilgrims at first used them and
later the bottles became part of military equipment.
This canteen has been produced with long and complex procedures of handcraft in Germany
and shows an enjoyable contrast to many of the imported and machine-made products which are
on the market. The quality and accuracy of manufacturing in the traditional way and copying true to original, are visible and convincing.
