Medieval Lantern, Wood with Rawhide Parchment
Medieval Lantern, Wood and Rawhide (Parchment)
This Medieval lantern has been hand-crafted from painted wood and genuine rawhide (parchment). It consists of a round base plate and an upper ring connected to each other by the use of 8 rods. The cylindrical body is tightly covered with parchment - this thin leather is sewn and securely nailed to the wooden frame.
The lantern is equipped with a metal socket fitted with a thorn to ensure a steady hold of the candle. The convenient lifting device mounted to the socket allows you to pull the candle out easily to light or replace it without running the risk of burning your fingers.
The parchment lets the light shine through and provides a soft and pleasant warm glow. When placed on a table at night, the lantern creates a lovely atmosphere both indoors and outdoors. The lantern has a handle made of braided rope by which it can be carried or hung on a hook.
Both decorative and functional, this wooden lantern is not only an ideal prop for rustic historical settings such as Medieval camps and re-enactment, living history or Larp events, but also a great ornamental piece for your home or garden.

Specs may slightly vary from piece to piece.
This Medieval lantern is a purely hand-crafted item. Each piece is thus a one-of-a-kind and pictures are for reference only. As wood and leather are natural products, minor variations in colour and/or grain are quite normal. Such "imperfections" lend some authentic flair to the lamp and make each piece very unique.
