Viking Inspired Leather and Canvas Bag
Viking Style Bag, Leather and Canvas
This Viking Age bag has a pentagonal shape and is made from cotton canvas. The edges and front flap of the bag have stitched-on two-tone leather. The bag is unlined and features an adjustable buckle closure (brass buckle and leather strap).
The approx. 2 cm wide, adjustable carrying strap is also a combination of canvas and leather elements securely joined together with strong stitches and rivets. The strap length of approx. 1.4 cm, is long enough to carry the bag both as a simple shoulder bag and a cross body bag (slung across the shoulder).
This Viking bag is suitable for both ladies and gents. Shoulder bags were not only carried by women and men alike during the Early Medieval period, but also throughout the entire Middle Ages. They were less designed as fashionable accessories but more as utility items used in everyday domestic and work life for the specific purpose of stowing and comfortably carrying one's essentials when out and about.
Although this Medieval bag is not a reconstruction based on an actual archaeological find, it is definitely inspired by original historical pieces. The bag is also perfectly suited for modern everyday life.

This canvas and leather bag is hand-crafted. Each piece is therefore one-of-a-kind and the pictures are for reference only. As leather is a natural product, minor variations in colour and/or grain are quite normal. Besides, the surface structure of the canvas fabric might show some slight irregularities owing to the manufacturing process. Such "imperfections" are not defects or flaws and do not constitute grounds for complaint.
